The FirstLine Foundation

FirstLine Foundation + The ChariTree Foundation

From little things, big things grow

The FirstLine Foundation is a private, independent foundation established by the Koehle family. Each member of the family brings experience and goals to this initiative and we are excited to see how much positive impact we can create together.

The FirstLine Foundation was also inspired by the work of The ChariTree Foundation — a small, volunteer-run climate education + United Nations Climate Observer organization for children and youth. Founded in 2006 by Andrea Koehle Jones, The ChariTree Foundation has given thousands of children trees to plant as part of a globally-focussed biodiversity and environmental education initiative. The ChariTree Foundation creates and supports national and international nature-based climate education programs for children and youth and helps schools build outdoor classrooms.

“The impact is significant – thousands of campers connecting with nature because of your work, and thousands more trees growing as a legacy of this program. It was an innovative and fun way for kids to leave their mark at their camps and on the natural world… It is heartening to know that your commitment to building an appreciation for nature in youth across Canada remains strong.”
-Mike Stewart, Canadian Camping Association

The ChariTree Foundation is a global charity based in Canada. From this little charity, big things are growing including the all-new FirstLine Foundation. One of our FirstLine goals is to inspire others to create their own projects and initiatives. Even the smallest effort can make a difference for someone, somewhere.

“Let’s give kids opportunities to fall in love with nature in order to protect it ~ because you protect what you love.”
-Andrea Koehle Jones, Founder of the ChariTree Foudation and Director, The FirstLine Foundation Author
